What is Honors Scholars Council?
Mission Statement
            The mission of the Honors Scholars Council is to foster scholarship and academic enrichment in students by providing guidance and resources for pursuing higher education, as well as by promoting active engagement in service experiences, leadership opportunities, and undergraduate research.
            The Honors Scholars Council also seeks to reflect the ideals and standards of the Honors Program. Our mission is to become the active link between the program and its students, to create a strong sense of community, and to encourage students to become actively engaged in campus life.

Who are Honors Scholar Council?
     We are students who strive for excellence and are highly motivated.
     We are bright, high-achieving, well-prepared students constantly seeking new challenges.
     We are well-rounded and have a variety of interests, strengths, talents, goals and skills.
     We have taken rigorous and challenging classes throughout the semester(s).
     We are motivated students who may be unsure of exactly what they want to study or what career we want to pursue further in the future.

Membership Requirement
            To be eligible for membership, students must be members of the Honors Program in good standing (a 3.25 in honors classes and overall).
               
(The individual membership in the Honors Program must be verified before acceptance into HSC.)
           
OR      Provisional member who do not meet the requirement yet, but soon be joining
            the Honors Program.
